Abstract C91: Reversible lysine specific demethylase-1 inhibition is synergistic with docetaxel in castrate refractory prostate cancer

Molecular Cancer Therapeutics, 2015
Abstract Lysine specific demethylase-1 (LSD-1) expression correlates with poor survival in prostate cancer. LSD-1 is also key in androgen receptor signaling in androgen sensitive and castration refractory prostate cancer. LSD-1 is a chromatin modifying enzyme that in conjunction with its binding partners functions as an ‘erasor’ in the ...

Abstract C91: PyVmT luminal and EMT cell lines exhibit characteristic patterns of orthotopic and tail vein metastasis

Cancer Research, 2013
Abstract Understanding pathways leading to metastasis remains a primary goal of breast cancer research. Epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) is thought to be critical in this process as tumor cells migrate through the stroma and undergo deformation while passing endothelial cells to enter the circulation. To examine the role of EMT

Abstract C91: Exploring the role of social determinants on HPV vaccine intentions and uptake among ethnoracial minority college students

Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, 2018
Abstract Background: HPV-related diseases and cancers disproportionately affect low-income and ethnoracial minorities. HPV vaccines have the potential to reduce ethnoracial disparities in HPV-related diseases and cancers; however, HPV vaccine uptake has remained sub optimal.

Latcripin-7A, derivative of Lentinula edodes C91–3, reduces migration and induces apoptosis, autophagy, and cell cycle arrest at G1 phase in breast cancer cells

Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2020
Due to the high mortality rate and an increase in breast cancer incidence, it has been challenging for researchers to come across an effective chemotherapeutic strategy with minimum side effects. Therefore, the need for the development of effective chemotherapeutic drugs is still on the verge. Consequently, we approached a new mechanism to address this

Expression and functional analysis of novel molecule — Latcripin-13 domain from Lentinula edodes C91-3 produced in prokaryotic expression system

Gene, 2015
The shiitake mushroom Lentinula edodes has health benefits and is used to treat various diseases due to its immunomodulatory and antineoplastic properties. In the present study, the Latcripin-13 domain, isolated from L. edodes, was expressed in Escherichia coli Rosetta-gami(DE3) in the form of inclusion bodies.
