Association Between Sleep Quality and Oxidative Stress in Postoperative Cardiovascular Patients—A Pilot Study

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
In 15 postoperative cardiac surgery patients, venous reactive oxygen species (ROS) measured by electron spin resonance (ESR) over 48 h showed no consistent circadian pattern. Higher ROS was associated with lower subjective sleep efficiency and more nocturnal awakenings, but not with other sleep measures.

PCI Versus CABG for Multivessel Coronary Disease in Diabetics

open access: yes, 2009
OBJECTIVES: To explore the clinical performance of a strategy of revascularization by percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with drug-eluting stent (DES) in diabetic patients with multivessel disease (MVD) compared with coronary artery bypass graft

Left Ventricular wall Thickness and Decrement Evoked Potentials in Ablation of Ischemic Ventricular Tachycardia

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Preprocedural imaging can improve the success rate of ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation. Left ventricular wall thickness (LVWT) measured by cardiac computed tomography (CT) can be used to identify infarct regions. We sought to determine whether an association exists between left ventricular wall thickness (LVWT) as obtained ...

Is There a Place for Surgical Revascularization in Acute Myocardial Infarction?

open access: yesУкраїнський журнал серцево-судинної хірургії
Rapid restoration of coronary blood flow is extremely important in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Timely reperfusion, performed within the first hours from the onset of angina pectoris, not only improves outcomes but also prevents life ...

Senolytics and exercise: Dual modalities for rejuvenating muscle

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend The role of senolytics on the heart and skeletal muscle. Senescent cell burden increases with ageing, disuse and disease. The senolytics dasatinib+quercetin (D+Q), navitoclax and fisetin, as well as exercise, eliminate senescent cells, reducing senescent cell burden and their senescence‐associated secretory phenotype (SASP ...

Bioresorbable Scaffolds for Coronary Arteries: Where Do We Stand Today?

open access: yesVIEW Medicine, Volume 1, Issue 1, August 2026.
Bioresorbable coronary scaffolds are moving from thick strut pitfalls to thinner, stronger, healing‐oriented designs. Integrating advances in materials, guided implantation with preparation, size, and postdilation steps, and resorption aligned to healing, we synthesize clinical evidence and chart a roadmap toward intelligent, transient platforms ...
