Numerical simulation of the airflow–rivulet interaction associated with the rain-wind induced vibration phenomenon [PDF]
Rain-wind induced vibration is an aeroelastic phenomenon that occurs on the inclined cables of cable-stayed bridges. The vibrations are believed to be caused by a complicated nonlinear interaction between rivulets of rain water that run down the cables ...

ABSTRACT BorF is a short‐chain flavin reductase from a desert soil bacterium that uses NADH to reduce FAD to FADH2, which is used by the tryptophan‐6‐halogenase BorH to chlorinate tryptophan in the biosynthetic pathway of borregomycin A. The X‐ray crystal structure of BorF bound to FAD was solved to 2.37 Å by molecular replacement.

The Evolution of Autonomous Systems for Planetary Cave Exploration: A Review
ABSTRACT The exploration of Subsurface Access Points (SAPs), such as lava tubes on the Moon and Mars, has gained significant interest due to their potential as stable environments shielded from surface radiation and temperature extremes. These sites are considered high‐value targets for detecting water and signs of ancient life, and assessing their ...

Replacement of Cable Stays in Yonghe Bridge in Tianjin, China
Cable replacement is one of the most important approaches for retrofitting an existing cable-stayed bridge. The Yonghe Bridge opened to traffic in 1987 and was the largest concrete cable-stayed bridge in Asia at the time. After nearly 20 years in service,

Couplings in parametrically excited inclined cables systems [PDF]
Cables in stayed bridges are subjected to important dynamic solicitations for which dynamic model are now well established. Due to their design, such structures highlight resonance phenomena and instabilities frequently observed.

Dynamic analysis of a cable-stayed deck steel arch bridge [PDF]
A theoretical and experimental research work in relation to Barqueta cable-stayed bridge is described in this paper. Barqueta Bridge, across Guadalquivir river, links the city of Seville with the Scientific Park Cartuja 93. At jam hours cars may cover one

‘Fine Men from Afar’: Cricket and Empire on the Home Front
Abstract During the Second World War, contrary to enduring images of bombardment and scarcity, people on Britain's ‘Home Front’ continued to take part in a broad array of sporting activities. Cricket played a more significant role in the wartime sporting landscape than many historians have previously recognized.
