Durability of Cable Stays for Cable-Stayed Bridges

Structural Engineering International, 1991
Several types of cable have been proposed and used for cable-stayed bridges. Furthermore, it is possible for each type of cable to be applied in several corrosion protection systems. Factors related to the corrosion protection of cables are discussed in this brief paper, and a long-lay cable is proposed, call "NEW-PWS", that does not require job-site ...

Cable-Stayed Bridges

Engineering Journal, 1974
In recent years, effects of wind action and oscillation have been investigated very thoroughly for suspension bridges; such analyses are also required for cable-stayed bridges. Purely mathematical analysis of this problem is impractical at this time, so that model testing is used instead.

ON THE OPTIMAL DESIGN OF CABLE-STAYED BRIDGES

Proceedings of the VII European Congress on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering (ECCOMAS Congress 2016), 2016
This paper studies cable-stayed bridges (CBSs), with special focus on the initial force distri-butions in cables during construction phases. An algorithm for the optimal design of the pre-tensioning sequence of cables is presented. A procedure for the optimization of cable forces is developed, according to a given objective function.
