CATV cable assemblies: screening requirements and performance
EMC York 99. International Conference and Exhibition on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1999Cable assemblies using TV connectors are used widely for connecting a TV set both to its antenna outlet socket and video recorder, and for some time a German standard has existed which includes a specified limit for their screening attenuation. Cable assemblies are available in the retail market to this specification (DIN 45332) which is thought to ...

Screening Factor of Pipe-Type Cable Systems
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1969After reviewing the background of zero sequence impedance of pipe-type cables, the paper describes in general the longitudinal voltages induced in adjacent auxiliary cables due to a fault in power transmission systems. The magnitude of the induced voltage is influenced by the screening effect of the power cables.

Screening effectiveness measurement of a coaxial cable isolator
IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1998Coaxial cable isolators are designed to limit the amount of current flowing on the screen of a coaxial cable as a result of earth loops, an AC mains power contact, or mains isolation fault. Invariably, isolators involve the "breaking" of the screen, creating the potential for signal leakage into and out of the cable system through the isolator ...

Screening efficiency of triaxial cables with optimum braided shields
IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1990An investigation into the shielding effectiveness of triaxial cables employing wire shields with optimum braid constructions is described. Several triaxial configurations with different braid designs for inner and outer cables were simulated. It is shown that crosstalk performance of the triaxial cables are affected by both absolute values and ...

Measurements on screened twin cable with an earthed measuring instrument
Journal of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1951Various methods of connecting a screened twin cable and an earthed measuring instrument are examined. It is shown that the cable characteristics can be most easily and accurately measured when the connections are such as to produce a nearly symmetrical potential distribution in the cable.

Failures clarification of MV non metallic screened aerial bundled cables
14th International Conference and Exhibition on Electricity Distribution (CIRED 1997 - Distributing Power for the Millennium), 1997Medium voltage nonmetallic screened aerial bundled cable (ABC) has been used in Brazil for 20 years as a solution for substation exits, narrow streets and crossings. The benefits of such cables are well known. This simple cable construction has been appointed by some customers as the reason for an unexpected number of in-service failures.

Development of a Connector for Carbon Fiber Screened Cables with Conductive Springs
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2019Research is in progress to lighten cables for vessels by replacing shield layers with carbon fiber materials. Since there has been no actual case where carbon fiber is used as a shield material for cables, it is necessary, first of all, to secure the safety of this new material by examining the physical property, connecting modes of cable connectors ...
