A 3D Bioprinted Spheroid‐Laden dECM‐Enriched Osteosarcoma Model for Enhanced Drug Testing and Therapeutic Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D biomimetic OS model was developed by bioprinting an OS‐cell‐derived dECM‐enriched bioink with OS spheroids incorporated. The model showed upregulation of known OS prognostic markers and increased resistance to doxorubicin, compared to 2D cultures and scaffold‐free spheroids, making this a more clinically relevant platform for drug discovery ...

The effect of CaCl2 on water migration, rheological properties, aggregation behavior and protein structure in rapidly salted separated egg yolk plasma and granules

open access: yesPoultry Science
: This research investigated the effects of CaCl2 on the aggregation behavior and protein structure of egg yolk plasma and granules after fast salting. The addition of CaCl2 to the salt solution decreased T23, D [4,3] and the absolute value of the zeta ...

Patient‐Derived 3D Bioprinted Cardiac Organoid Constructs Reveal Key Pathological Features of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived cardiac organoids reveal key features of Duchenne muscular dystrophy cardiomyopathy, including apoptosis, oxidative stress, calcium handling defects, and mechanical remodeling. By integrating organoids into alginate–gelatin bioprinted constructs, disease phenotypes are organized into scalable 3D cardiac tissues displaying extracellular ...

A 3D Astrocyte Microenvironment Model Enables Rapid Ca2+‐Resolved Analysis and Therapeutic Modulation of Oxidative Neuroinflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents ARC‐3D, a soft 3D model that recreates how brain support cells, called astrocytes, react to oxidative stress. The system visualizes rapid calcium changes and inflammatory signals, and shows how the drug KDS12025 can protect cells from damage. ARC‐3D offers a simple, reliable way to study early drivers of brain inflammation.

Dual‐Peptide Nanoplatform: Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles Functionalized With a Cell‐Penetrating Peptide and Loaded With Rationally Designed Antimicrobial Peptides for Tuberculosis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Machine learning–guided engineering of a plectasin‐derived peptide yields DC05, a potent antimycobacterial candidate. Encapsulation into tuftsin‐functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticles enhances intracellular delivery, stability, and activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis while maintaining low cytotoxicity and minimal hemolysis. The combined

Study on the mechanism of exogenous CaCl2 regulating cell growth and development to alleviate salt tolerance of alfalfa (Medicago sativa)

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Salt stress affects the growth and development of alfalfa. Calcium Chloride (CaCl2) plays a role in signal transduction and stabilizing cell membrane system in plant response to salt stress.

Isolation Defines Identity: Functional Consequences of Extracellular Vesicle Purification Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Four extracellular vesicle purification strategies are compared using ovarian‐cancer ascites and ES‐2 cell supernatants. A novel workflow links purification to function by combining particle‐normalized proteomics with matched cell‐free and cell‐based assays.
