Valorization of Post‐Consumer Waste From Metallized Flexible Packaging and Industrial EPM Waste: Development of Sustainable Composites

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Post‐consumer metallized flexible packaging waste and industrial EPM waste are transformed into sustainable composites through mechanical recycling. The incorporation of 30 wt% EPM provides the most favorable balance between stiffness, ductility, and impact resistance, achieving 53.36 kJ/m2.

Integrated biorefinery for cellulosic ethanol and spherical nanolignin production from coconut waste

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Green coconut waste was subjected to different fractionation methods to obtain integrated lignin nanoparticles and cellulosic ethanol. Pretreatment with gradual addition of dilute sulfuric acid provided a higher structural hemicellulose precursor yield (68.2%).

Structural Transition of Monohydrocalcite (CaCO3·H2O) to Calcite (CaCO3) on Heating

open access: yes
Monohydrocalcite (CaCO3·H2O) is a hydrated calcium carbonate that has been discovered in various natural settings, including lacustrine environments, cold springs, speleothems, and marine environments. This study investigates fifteen data sets of a monohydrocalcite sample using synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) at varying temperatures ...

Programmable three‐state nanoreactor for spatiotemporally controlled tumor therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
The OMVs are shielded with a biocompatible Da–Ca shell, which prolongs its circulation period and promotes intratumoral accumulation. Importantly, the biocompatible Da–Ca shell can be controllably disintegrated in tumor microenvironment by using laser irradiation, generating in situ hyperthermia and releasing Ca2+.

Quercetin‐zinc coordination polymer coated CaCO3 nanoparticles potentiate radiotherapy through reprogramming tumor immunosuppression

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Synthesis of QZCaCO3‐PEG to synergistically enhance the immunogenicity of radiotherapy through concurrent Zn2+‐induced cancer cell pyroptosis and Que‐mediated hypoxia amelioration through sequentially suppressing TGF‐β secretion and ECM deposition. Abstract Radiotherapy has demonstrated broad applications in treating solid tumors, but the hostile tumor

Effect of stearic acid and sodium stearate on hydrophobicity of nano calcium carbonate and mechanism of water vapor adsorption

open access: yesScientific Reports
It is essential to understand the modification mechanism of hydrophobicity nano-CaCO3 to their potential application in different fields of chemistry. However, the water absorption of hydrophobicity nano-CaCO3 is seldom studied. In this study, Raman, BET

Engineering Biochar‐Derived Functional Materials for High‐Performance Supercapacitors: Design Principles, Mechanisms, and Scalable Strategies

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biochar has emerged as a useful and adaptable source of carbon for supercapacitor electrodes. Its value comes from the way biomass chemistry, thermal conversion, and activation conditions shape the resulting pore network, surface groups, and degree of carbon ordering.
