Official cadastral maps of the Republic of Croatia were made in different historical time periods utilizing different surveying methods, under changing social and political structures and under rapid technological growth. It is estimated that 75% of all cadastral maps in Croatia are still based upon the 19th century graphic survey.

The International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) has recently stated that about 30 to 50 countries in the world have cadastral systems in operation. Another 50 countries are in the process of establishing one. The remainder of 90 countries do not have a land registry system and they do not have the funds to establish one.

Cadastral map 1 : 5000 – supplement to the basic state map

Our basic state map on a scale of 1 : 5000 contains only topographic data. For its wide use, it is proposed to supplement the content with cadastral data by creating a special cadastral map on a scale of 1:5000 based on cadastral plans that were mostly created in old surveys in the last century and on a scale of 1:2880.
