Taxonomic Study of Korean Oedipodinae (Orthoptera: Caelifera: Acrididae)

ABSTRACTAs a result of Korean Oedipodinae is taxonomically revised, eleven species are recognized and Microgastrimargus taeguensis Lee and Park 1992 is a new synonym of Oedaleus infernalis Saussure 1884. A key to Korean species of Oedipodinae, and description of a little known species Epacromius japonicus (Shiraki 1910) are provided.

Complete nucleotide sequences of mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Thrinchus schrenkii (Orthoptera: Acridoidea: Pamphagidae) were determined. It is 15672 bp in length and contains 71.2% A+T. All T. schrenkii protein-coding sequences except for the cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) start with a typical ATN codon.

Two new genera and seven new species, collected in the state of Oaxaca in Mexico, are described. The genera Reyesacris (R. amedegnatoae) and Oaxaca (O. colorata and O. carinata) are new to science. Melanoplus mixes, M. oaxacae and M. ludivinae are new species for the genus Melanoplus Stål, 1873 and Cephalotettix chinantecus is new species for the genus

'Overview of Croatian grasshoppers' (Orthoptera: Ensifera, Caelifera) fauna

Short overview of poor history of Orthoptera research in Croatia, as well as insight into grasshoppers' diversity in the country is presented. Last systematic work published on Orthoptera is Us (1967) listed 164 Orthopteran species for Croatia.
