Biomechanical Characterization of Metacarpal Fixation: Internal Load Determination and Evaluation of a Novel Adhesive Osteosynthesis

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, Volume 43, Issue 10, Page 1787-1795, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Metal plates are commonly used for the fixation of metacarpal fractures, but are associated with complications such as tendon adhesions that impair finger mobility. AdhFix, a novel osteosynthesis material, may reduce these complications, but its biomechanical performance in the metacarpal region remains untested.

Diversity of Phosphorus‐Solubilizing Microbes Isolated From Different Cropping Systems of Zimbabwe for Use as Biofertilizers With Rock Phosphate

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 5, October 2025.
Thirty‐seven potential culturable P‐solubilizing bacteria candidates were isolated from Zimbabwean soils and can unlock P in rock phosphates, offering an alternative affordable source of P for resource‐constrained farming communities. ABSTRACT Soil phosphorus deficiency and the high cost of mineral fertilizers necessitate research into alternative ...

Late Onset Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Associated With Features of Pulmonary Veno‐Occlusive Disease and Rare Heterozygous Variants of KDR and EIF2AK4

open access: yesPulmonary Circulation, Volume 15, Issue 4, October 2025.
ABSTRACT The natural history of late‐onset pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) with features of venous/capillary involvement and the associations with rare variants in PAH genes are not well known. We report a case of a female patient who developed severe PAH at the age of 70.

New Insights into Secondary Metabolite Potential in Hypericum Perforatum, UPLC‐ESI‐MS/MS to Novel Phytochemical Discovery with Bioactivity Assessment

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 10, Issue 40, October 27, 2025.
Investigation of bioactive components in Hypericum Perforatum. Abstract Different anatomical components of Hypericum perforatum (H. perforatum) have been utilized by humans for generations as a natural remedy with pharmacological attributes. This work aimed to investigate the secondary metabolite potential of H.
