Periodic Cages.

ChemInform, 2005
Various cages are constructed by using three types of caps: f-cap (derived from spherical fullerenes by deleting zones of various size), kf-cap (obtainable by cutting off the polar ring, of size k), and t-cap ("tubercule"-cap). Building ways are presented, some of them being possible isomerization routes in the real chemistry of fullerenes.

Frontier Orbitals of Trivalent Cages:  (3,6) Cages and (4,6) Cages

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2005
A qualitative molecular-orbital treatment and group-theoretical analysis reveals the nature of the frontier orbitals of (3,6) and (4,6) polyhedral cages, consisting of a hexagonal network with triangular and square defects, respectively. Leapfrog (3,6) cages have two nonbonding filled orbitals.

A caged cyanide

Photochemical & Photobiological Sciences, 2012
A photoactivatable caged cyanide, 1-(2-nitrophenyl)ethyl (NPE) cyanide, was synthesized, which upon irradiation in the near UV releases cyanide. It is demonstrated that the compound can be used to induce formation of the Fe(III)-CN(-) complex in the heme protein nitrophorin 4 from Rhodnius prolixus.

In the cage

1984
The work of Eliot, Joyce and Pound is often taken to represent a moment when, in Eliot’s words, ‘Psychology (such as it is, and whether our reaction to it be comic or serious), ethnology, and The Golden Bough have concurred to make possible what was impossible even a few years ago.’ Psychology, ethnology, The Golden Bough: these, Eliot thought, were ...

In the Cage

2004
Henry James’s ‘London’ marks an appropriate conclusion to this study not just chronologically but also technically, in its gradual departure from the conventions of Victorian fiction. In the mid-1880s James conceived of the novelist as competing ‘with his brother the painter in hisattempt to… catch the colour, the relief, the expression, the surface ...

Polyhedral Metal-Imidazolate Cages: Control of Self-Assembly and Cage to Cage Transformation

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2013
A series of neutral cubic nickel(II)-imidazolate Ni8L12X4 cages were prepared by rational choices of substituents and anions with solvothermal subcomponent self-assembly technology. Both substituents and halide anions play a critical role in the formation and stabilization of cubic cages.
