Does Lumbar Interbody Cage Size Influence Subsidence? A Biomechanical Study.

Spine, 2020
STUDY DESIGN An experimental laboratory-based biomechanical study. OBJECTIVE To investigate the correlation between cage size and subsidence and to quantify the resistance to subsidence that a larger cage can provide.

The CAGE questionnaire: validation of a new alcoholism screening instrument.

American Journal of Psychiatry, 1974
The CAGE questionnaire, a new brief alcoholism screening test, was administered to all patients (N = 366; 39 percent alcoholic) admitted to a psychiatric service over a one-year period.

Caging cancer

Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology and Medicine, 2015
This article summarizes the overall issues surrounding cancer for the general audience. Individual differences between patients include genetic and non-genetic differences manifested in various cellular pathways, tumor heterogeneity and variability, differing contribution of tumor microenvironment and potential toward metastasis.

Bimetallic cages

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2013
We report the results of density functional theory for 39 clusters AxBy (x + y = 10 or 12) where A and B are metals from group 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, or 14 of the periodic table. The chemical compositions were chosen to satisfy an electronic shell closing criterion.

Frontier Orbitals of Trivalent Cages:  (3,6) Cages and (4,6) Cages

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2005
A qualitative molecular-orbital treatment and group-theoretical analysis reveals the nature of the frontier orbitals of (3,6) and (4,6) polyhedral cages, consisting of a hexagonal network with triangular and square defects, respectively. Leapfrog (3,6) cages have two nonbonding filled orbitals.

Porous Shape-Persistent Organic Cage Compounds of Different Size, Geometry, and Function.

Accounts of Chemical Research, 2018
The interest in shape-persistent organic cages is nearly as old as the interest in supramolecular chemistry. In the beginning, organic cages have often been synthesized in a stepwise manner, which is not only laborious but very often also accompanied by ...

Caging Out, Caging In:

Pacific Historical Review, 2019
Border fences have a long history in the United States, and that history is deeply entangled with the rise of the carceral state. As fences along the U.S.-Mexico border grew over the course of the twentieth century, they increasingly restricted the mobility of migrants both as they crossed the U.S.-Mexico divide and once they were within U.S. territory.

Cage Based Crystalline Covalent Organic Frameworks.

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2019
The first two cage based crystalline covalent organic frameworks, cage-COF-1 and cage-COF-2, were constructed from a prism-like three-aldehyde-containing molecular cage. The cage contains two horizontal phloroglucinol and three vertical triazine moieties

Cage

differences, 2023
This essay studies figures of arrest and mobility, imprisonment and release, and “rigor and extravagance” in Leo Bersani’s writings. Focusing on The Forms of Violence, a study of late Assyrian sculpture coauthored with Ulysse Dutoit and first published in 1985, the essay at once follows and moves away from the book’s analysis of “a cage which imprisons

Tetraphenylethene-Based Octacationic Cage.

Angewandte Chemie, 2019
Cage-type compounds offer molecule-level confined spaces with different sizes, shapes, and functional groups for various molecule guests to achieve some specific behaviors/functions, such as ultrahigh affinity of host-guest recognition, multi-tunable ...
