Calcination of phosphates: reactivity of calcined phosphate

Powder Technology, 1980
Abstract Detailed investigations of the effect of physical, chemical and mineralogical changes in calcined phosphate rocks on its chemical reactivity were carried out. It was found that the presence of CaCO 3 and/ or CaO decreases the chemical reactivity of phosphates by consuming the active reagent in the reactivity test.

Alumina Calcination in the Fluid-Flash Calciner

2016
In the mid 40’s, Alcoa turned to fluidized solids techniques as a means of improving the efficiency of the alumina calcining process. This paper traces calciner development from the first pilot operation in 1946 through the first plant fluid-bed unit in 1952, the early “fluid-flash” calciner designs in 1960, the first 300 ton/day fluid-flash calciner ...

Preliminary calciner

Cement Wapno Beton, 2021
In the former years, the total amount of heat indispensable for clinker formation was obtained in the kiln burner, which determined the maximum of this heat, thus the kiln efficiency was simultaneously determined. The kiln has the double role: the hearth and the chemical reactor.

Small Calciner for Drying and Calcination of SYNROC Slurry

Nuclear Technology, 1986
A laboratory scale calciner was developed in which a batch of SYNROC slurry could be dried and then calcined. A SYNROC sample was demonstratively prepared from a hydroxide-route slurry with the calciner. Results of x-ray diffraction and leach tests revealed that the calciner formed a SYNROC sample of good quality.

Calcination Processes

2009
The preparation of natural and synthetic gypsum prior to calcination, such as drying and grinding. The various calcination methods for β-hemihydrate and α-hemihydrate are reviewed, such as batch kettle, continuous kettle, submerged combustion kettle, conical kettle, and other calcination equipment.

Photoacoustic Characterization of Calcinated and Non-Calcinated Zeolitic Chromosilicate

1992
In this paper we confirm, using the photoacoustic spectroscopy, that the incorporation of oxygen to crytalline zeolitic chromosilicates promotes the oxidation of anchored Cr(III) to non — interacting Cr(VI) species. The thermal diffusivity, the non — radiative relaxation time and the optical absorption coefficients of both calcinated and non ...
