Theoretical study of the elastic constants of calcite at the transition calcite I-calcite II
Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors, 1985Abstract Sudden changes in the elastic stiffness constants of single crystalline calcite at the transition calcite I-calcite II (Vo Thanh and Lacam) are interpreted in terms of the interaction between pressure induced elastic strains and the rotational mode of CO 3 = groups.

Tetravalent Uranium in Calcite
Science, 1998X-ray absorption spectroscopy and x-ray fluorescence microprobe studies of 35-million-year-old calcite from a Mississippi Valley–type zinc ore deposit indicate substitution of tetravalent uranium for divalent calcium. Thus, tetravalent uranium has a stable location in calcite deposited under reducing conditions.

Calcite–oleate–oxalate interaction in calcite flotation system
Particulate Science and Technology, 2016ABSTRACTCalcite is considered a semi-soluble mineral in flotation. Its solubility in acids plays a major role in its floatability. In this study, micro-flotation experiments are conducted to investigate the interaction of calcite particles with potassium oleate (KOl).

Calcite-aragonite equilibrium, determined with an oscillating Griggs-Kennedy squeezer over the range 100° to 575°C, is given by P = 5500 (± 500) + 12.6 (± 1.5) T where pressure is in bars and temperature is in degrees Celsius.
