RioM‐1: A New Calcite Reference Material for U‐Pb LA‐ICP‐MS Geochronology

open access: yesGeostandards and Geoanalytical Research, EarlyView.
Key Points RioM‐1 calcite was characterised for trace elements, U‐Pb geochronology, Sr and O isotopes using ID‐TIMS, LA‐ICP‐MS and SIMS. U‐Pb dates from ID‐TIMS and LA‐ICP‐MS across several independent laboratories returned identical results within uncertainty.

Sustainable bioceramics, biopolymers, and composites for bone applications: From bench to production

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract In response to environmental challenges and primary resource scarcity, sustainable approaches that rely on recycling and reusing waste materials are becoming highly valuable and appealing options in modern society. These strategies have started being applied in biomaterials science, too, leading to the advent of new synergies between ...

Contact point geometry governs structural buildup at rest in Portland cement–limestone blends

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, EarlyView.
Abstract The early stiffening of fresh cement paste plays a key role in shaping and stability during casting and 3D printing. In Portland cement systems, this phenomenon arises from the formation of calcium–silicate–hydrate (C-S-H$\text{C-S-H}$), which stiffens grain‐to‐grain contacts.
