Impact of calcium aluminate cement and calcium sulfate on gel C-A-S-H formation during the Portland cement hydration [PDF]
This study examines how calcium aluminate cement (CAC) and calcium sulfate influence the hydration and gel structure of Portland cement (PC). A binary PC/CAC (85/15) mix was compared with ternary systems containing 3% and 5% calcium sulfate under two ...

Modeling of Corrosion Rate and Resistivity of Steel Reinforcement of Calcium Aluminate Cement Mortar [PDF]
Calcium aluminate cement (CAC) is a binder whose hydrated compounds change over time from cubic phases to hexagonal phases, producing an increase of porosity in reinforced concretes.

Impact of plasticizers’ types on the performance of calcium aluminate cement
Nowadays it is almost impossible to design a cement-based mixture without the application of some plasticizing additives. There have been developed many types of plasticizers, but they are mostly directed for Portland cement applications.

Abstract The Design of Experiment (DOE) is a widely recognized approach to designing and analyzing experiments. It is a statistical method utilized to simultaneously examine the impact of multiple factors on the results. In this study, two different DOE methods, including mixture and factorial design were employed to evaluate the influence of various ...

Abstract It was analysed how a low Na5P3O10 (STPP) concentration influences the hydration of a calcium aluminate cement. It is known that the hydration of a CAC‐Calcite system precipitates C2AHX as a precursor phase at 23°C during hydration before the formation of hemi‐ or monocarbonate and the additional formation of CAH10 and AH3.

Acid Neutralization Capacity of Metakaolin‐based Geopolymers
Abstract A titration method is used to analyse the acid neutralization/consumption capacity (ANC) of cement binders, which involves plotting the steady‐state pH against the amount of acid added to a diluted suspension of hardened cement samples. Despite ANC being employed for several decades, there is no reported application of ANC for metakaolin‐based
