Structural Changes by Thermal Treatment up to Glass Obtention of P2O5-Na2O-CaO-SiO2 Compounds with Bioglass Composition Types [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
P2O5-Na2O-CaO-SiO2 compounds are the base of certain glass types. Glasses are solids obtained by fast cooling of melted mix of certain compounds.

Effect of Some Admixtures on the Surface Properties of the Hydration Products of Silica Fume/Ca(OH) Mixtures

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2000
The effect of sodium naphthalene formaldehyde sulphonate polycondensate and stearic acid on the surface properties of calcium silicate hydrates, formed as a result of the hydration reaction between silica fume and calcium hydroxide, has been examined by ...

Controlled growth and ordering of poorly-crystalline calcium-silicate-hydrate nanosheets

open access: yesCommunications Materials, 2021
Calcium-silicate-hydrate is the main component of cement, and controlling its structure is vital to its properties. Here, graphene oxide is used to constrain the growth and optimize the assembly of calcium-silicate-hydrate, substantially improving its ...

Silicate Scaling Formation: Impact of pH in High-Temperature Reservoir and Its Characterization Study

open access: yesBulletin of Chemical Reaction Engineering & Catalysis, 2022
Silicate scaling tends to form and be aggravated during high pH Alkaline Surfactant Polymer (ASP) floods and this silicate scale deposition affects oil production. Hence, it is important to examine the conditions that lead to silicate scale forming.

Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.
