Analysis of Sulfur Isotope Composition of Gypsum Samples by Elemental Analyzer-Isotope Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2020
BACKGROUND The conventional method for the measurement of sulfur isotopes in sulfate includes mainly barite conversion coupled with dual-inlet SO2 methods. These methods are facile and reliable.

Antimicrobial potency, prevention ability, and killing efficacy of daptomycin-loaded versus vancomycin-loaded β-tricalcium phosphate/calcium sulfate for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus biofilms

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
Growing evidence has shown that the efficacy of systemic administration of daptomycin for the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)-related infections is satisfactory.

Acidification of musts in warm regions with tartaric acid and calcium sulfate at industrial scale [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Acidification of musts is necessary in warm areas where high temperatures during ripening accelerate breathing combustion of tartaric acid and, in particular, malic acid in the berries.

Chemical modeling for pH prediction of acidified musts with gypsum and tartaric acid in warm regions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Winemaking of musts acidified with up to 3 g/L of gypsum (CaSO4 2H2O) and tartaric acid, both individually and in combination, as well as a chemical modeling have been carried out to study the behaviour of these compounds as acidifiers.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Sulfate optimization in ettringite rich cements by SO3/Al2O3 molar ratio: A comparative study of calcium sulfoaluminate and aluminate cements

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
The hydration process of calcium sulfoaluminate (CSA) and aluminate cement (CAC) is influenced by their composition and calcium sulfate sources. Increasing the calcium sulfate content promotes ettringite generation; however, exceeding the optimal ...

The antibacterial efficacy of calcium hydroxide–iodophors and calcium hydroxide–barium sulfate root canal dressings on Enterococcus faecalis and Porphyromonas gingivalis in vitro

open access: yesDental Journal, 2022
Background: A successful endodontic treatment is inseparable from the right choice of root canal dressing. The right choice of medicaments would result in patient satisfaction. Enterococcus faecalis (E.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...
