The relation between the compressibility and the radial free space distribution function (RFSDF) has been derived. This method for calculating the compressibility employing RFSDF is useful because the compressibility of any system is obtainable in a single Monte Carlo simulation without obtaining the equation of state.

The purpose of this work is to develop a method for the hydraulic calculation of a heat exchange panel of a solar tube collector of a tube type with a given nonuniform distribution of fluid flow under conditions of forced circulation. On the basis of previously obtained design dependencies, a method of hydraulic calculation of a heat exchange panel of ...

Abstract Numerical solution of the partial differential equation for heat transfer in the incompressible turbulent boundary layer has been obtained for uniform ( q w ρC p u i )/√( c f 2 ) and for Prandtl numbers 0–7, 1 and 7.

Temperature polarization effects can considerably limit the overall performance of pervaporation modules. This study shows the measurement of temperatures in a pervaporation membrane module using ultrasonic computer tomography (U-CT). With this technique complete 2D-temperature distributions that occur in the module can be measured within seconds ...

The three-particle distribution function g(3) of the homogeneous hard-sphere fluid is studied by means of the test-particle method of Percus. We consider an inhomogeneous situation in which the position of two particles is fixed and the inhomogeneous density profile that arises is related to g(3).

Abstract The microcanonical molecular dynamics ensemble describes a system with a fixed number of particles in a given volume and with constant total energy and total linear momentum. The primary phase integrals of this ensemble for a hard-core fluid are derived by using geometrical arguments.

This paper presents the theoretical basis used to develop, in AESA, a computer program to solve the direct calculation of the actuating pressure forces on a vibrating solid inside a fluid. The problem is solved both in the case of slightly compressible and incompressible fluids having reached, in the first case, a completely original solution.

[14C]Dimethyloxazolidine-2,4-dione was used to determine the pH and bicarbonate concentration ([HCO3-]) in follicular cells and luminal fluid (LF) of turtle thyroids. Values of cellular and luminal pH and [HCO3-] were derived from the steady-state [14C]dimethyloxazolidine-2,4-dione values in whole gland and in the follicular LF sampled by micropipettes

The distribution of inorganic phosphate ions in body fluids is calculated by equilibrium studies. Equations of partial mol fractions of each complex species are calculated with known stability constants, measured pH and electrolyte concentrations. We present these results in serum and urine in health, and in some diseases, with characteristic pH values
