Application of CFD for designing conventional three phase oilfield separator

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2017
This paper implemented two well-known semi-empirical procedures to estimate the dimensions of the three phase horizontal vessel. We then exercised a comprehensive Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulation to investigate the three phase separation ...

Thermal analysis of axial‐radial hybrid ventilation motor and stator ventilation channel improvement

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, 2022
The stator ventilation channel is the key component that affects the cooling capability of the axial‐radial hybrid ventilation motor (ARHVM). To study the influence of the stator ventilation channel on fluid flow and temperature distribution in the ARHVM,

Modeling the effect of anisotropic pressure on tokamak plasmas normal modes and continuum using fluid approaches

open access: yes, 2015
Extending the ideal MHD stability code MISHKA, a new code, MISHKA-A, is developed to study the impact of pressure anisotropy on plasma stability. Based on full anisotropic equilibrium and geometry, the code can provide normal mode analysis with three ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Penggunaan Microsoft Excel dalam Memprediksi Aliran Fluida dalam Packed Bed

open access: yesJurnal Rekayasa Kimia & Lingkungan, 2012
Flow distribution is often a problem in the operation of the packed bed reactor. The problem is often referred as flow maldistribution and formation of localized hot spot region. This research is generally aimed to predict  fluid flow distribution in the

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

The rheology of dense, polydisperse granular fluids under shear

open access: yes, 2004
The solution of the Enskog equation for the one-body velocity distribution of a moderately dense, arbitrary mixture of inelastic hard spheres undergoing planar shear flow is described. A generalization of the Grad moment method, implemented by means of a

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.
