Analytic Hadamard States, Calderón Projectors and Wick Rotation Near Analytic Cauchy Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 2017
We consider the Klein–Gordon equation on analytic spacetimes with an analytic Cauchy surface. In this setting, we prove the existence of pure analytic Hadamard states.

Underground Lag: Fungal Community and Edaphic Legacies After Disturbance

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Páramos are neotropical mountain ecosystems that regulate water and store large amounts of carbon, but are increasingly degraded by agriculture and grazing. Although native vegetation often recolonizes after abandonment, belowground recovery remains poorly understood.

Explicit constructions and properties of generalized shift-invariant systems in $L^2(\mathbb{R})$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Generalized shift-invariant (GSI) systems, originally introduced by Hern\'andez, Labate & Weiss and Ron & Shen, provide a common frame work for analysis of Gabor systems, wavelet systems, wave packet systems, and other types of structured function ...

Nonlocal active sound control for composite regions

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
In the active sound control problem, additional sound sources, known as control sources, are implemented at the perimeter of a protected domain. The control sources can generate secondary sound inside the shielded domain, which attenuates incoming noise. This leads to an inverse source problem.

Nutritional properties, traditional uses and potential new applications for the sotol plant (Asparagaceae, Convallarioideae): A review

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Sotol (Dasylirion spp.) is a resilient desert plant that sustains ecosystems, cultures and livelihoods in Chihuahua Desert. Our review highlights its nutritional properties, traditional uses and potential new applications in food, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy and water remediation. By synthesizing evidence across disciplines, we show how sotol can

Effects of Engineered Dam Releases on Benthic Assemblages During Drought and Comparison With Unregulated Reaches

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT River regulation following damming is often associated with deleterious downstream effects, in large part due to reduced total discharge and disruption of seasonal flooding. These effects would be expected to be exacerbated by drought, particularly extended drought.
