Geopolitics and Aspirations for Sustainability: Turkey's Emergence as an Energy Hub

open access: yesMiddle East Policy, EarlyView.
Abstract Turkey is pursuing three main objectives in the energy sector: enhancing its geopolitical position, expanding its domestic production and renewable energy capacity, and becoming a natural gas hub linking producers from the Middle East, the Caspian region, and Russia to European markets.

Review of Recent Drilling Projects in Unconventional Geothermal Resources at Campi Flegrei Caldera, Cornubian Batholith, and Williston Sedimentary Basin

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Unconventional geothermal resource development can contribute to increase power generation from renewable energy sources in countries without conventional hydrothermal reservoirs, which are usually associated with magmatic activity and extensional ...

The Sofu Seamount Submarine Volcano Present in the Source Area of the October 2023 Earthquakes and Tsunamis in Japan

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
On 8 October 2023 (UTC), unique earthquakes occurred in the Izu‐Ogasawara Arc, Japan, in which the P‐ and S‐phases were barely visible and only the T‐phases were evident, followed by tsunamis that reached islands in the Izu‐Ogasawara Arc and a wide area ...

Unveiling the Crystal Structure of Sanidine: A Polarized Raman and Ab Initio Simulation Exploration

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 57, Issue 2, Page 227-238, February 2026.
This study combines polarized Raman spectroscopy and ab initio calculations to assign theoretical vibrational modes to observed spectra. Polarized Raman spectra were collected in six geometries (40–1200 cm−1). Theoretical predictions via DFT show good agreement with experiments, though some discrepancies point to influences like trace elements and ...

Abnormally Large Magma Flux Does Not Lead to Eruption in Subduction Zone Calderas: The 2022–2023 Episode of Uplift of Aniakchak Crater (Aleutians)

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Abstract Observations of ground deformation provide insights on the triggering mechanisms of eruptions. At Aniakchak Crater (Aleutians) InSAR measured ∼ ${\sim} $72 cm of uplift in less than 7 months between 2022 and 2023. The uplift can be explained by the inflation of a point pressure source at a depth of 3.2 km.

The Evolution of Galápagos Volcanoes: An Alternative Perspective

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2018
The older eastern Galápagos are different in almost every way from the historically active western Galápagos volcanoes. Geochemical, geologic, and geophysical data support the hypothesis that the differences are not evolutionary, but rather the eastern ...

Exploiting CO2‐Derived Carbon in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
In this work, a carbon nanomaterial (CNM) extracted from CO2 reduction treatment is used as the conductive additive in lithium‐ion battery graphite anodes and LiFePO4 cathodes. The electrodes are produced by casting, using both sodium alginate as a green, water‐soluble, alternative binder.

Spatial Variations in Magmatic Volatile Influx and Fluid Boiling in the Submarine Hydrothermal Systems of Niuatahi Caldera, Tonga Rear‐Arc

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2022
Submarine caldera volcanoes may host several hydrothermal systems along the caldera wall and related to volcanic cones. Fluid boiling and magmatic volatile influx are common processes in shallow (

The Impact of Knowledge Sharing Quality on Environmental Practices to Improve the Financial Performance of SMEs: The Mediating Role of Advanced Management Technologies

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 1, Page 1349-1367, January 2026.
ABSTRACT This study examines how information quality influences the adoption of environmental practices in Mexican SMEs and how these practices affect financial performance, considering the mediating role of advanced management technologies. Knowledge exchange is assessed through training in knowledge management and internal knowledge transfer, both of
