A Python package for fast GPU‐based proton pencil beam dose calculation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Open‐source GPU‐based Monte Carlo (MC) proton dose calculation algorithms provide high speed and unparalleled accuracy but can be complex to integrate with new applications and remain slower than GPU‐based pencil beam (PB) methods, which sacrifice some physical accuracy for sub‐second plan calculation.

S-parameter calibration procedure for multiport microwave imaging systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Multitude of antennas are typically used in microwave imaging systems. Here we outline a simple and effective calibration method for multiport imaging systems. By using only one additional component, an electronic calibration module (ECal), one port is calibrated and the calibration plane is thereby moved to the antenna connector. Assuming all antennas

Clinical validation of myOSLchip: A beryllium oxide optically stimulated luminescent dosimeter (OSLD) system in radiotherapy dosimetry

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract In radiation oncology, inter‐fractional dosimetry using optically stimulated luminescent detectors (OSLDs) ensures accurate plan delivery and patient safety. RadPro International GmbH's myOLSchip system, featuring a beryllium oxide (BeO) OSL dosimeter, reader, and eraser, was characterized and calibrated with a Varian Truebeam for in‐vivo ...

Implementation of needle‐tracking technology for real‐time transrectal ultrasound‐guided interstitial gynecological HDR brachytherapy: A feasibility study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To investigate the feasibility of adapting a commercial prostate biopsy system for transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)‐guided hybrid gynecological (GYN) high‐dose‐rate (HDR) brachytherapy (BT). Leveraging 3D‐TRUS and MR image fusion, the prototype system aims to improve real‐time needle placement accuracy.

Log file‐based quality assurance method for respiratory gating system

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background As medical linear accelerator technology advances, enabling higher dose rate deliveries, hypofractionation regimens has increased. This necessitates respiratory gating systems that synchronize radiation delivery with tumor position, requiring simple rigorous quality assurance (QA) to ensure treatment accuracy and patient safety ...

Deep Ensemble Shape Calibration: Multi-Field Post-hoc Calibration in Online Advertising [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In the e-commerce advertising scenario, estimating the true probabilities (known as a calibrated estimate) on Click-Through Rate (CTR) and Conversion Rate (CVR) is critical. Previous research has introduced numerous solutions for addressing the calibration problem.

Digital Calibration Method for High Resolution in Analog/RF Designs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Transistor random mismatch continuously poses challenges for analog/RF circuit design for achieving high accuracy and high yield as the process technology advances. Existing statistical element selection (SES) design method can improve transistor matching property, but it falls short of being a general calibration method due to its limited calibration ...
