Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Multiphase flow metering using capacitance transducer and multivariate calibration [PDF]

open access: yesModeling, Identification and Control, 1992
The method of multivariate calibration is experimentally investigated to establish estimators of the required pertinent flow parameters in multiphase pipe flow.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Treating Nonresponse in Probability-Based Online Panels through Calibration: Empirical Evidence from a Survey of Political Decision-Making Procedures

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
The use of probability-based panels that collect data via online or mixed-mode surveys has increased in the last few years as an answer to the growing concern with the quality of the data obtained with traditional survey modes.

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

Evaluation of the synthetic estimators with non-respondent for small domain

open access: yesHeliyon
The present work gives generalized form of the class of estimators if unit non-response is acquired in small domains. We have obtained indirect method like synthetic. It has provided specific instances where the proposed estimators are unbiased.

An Improved Vis-NIR Estimation Model of Soil Organic Matter Through the Artificial Samples Enhanced Calibration Set

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2023
A suitable calibration sample set is extremely important to acquire an accurate spectral-based model for estimating soil organic matter (SOM). However, an unrepresentative calibration sample set was frequently collected due to the inappropriate samplings

Establishment of a coculture system for Porphyromonas gingivalis and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma using spheroid culture and LATS inhibition

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We established a spheroid coculture system enabling viable Porphyromonas gingivalis–HNSCC interactions under normoxic conditions. Inhibition of LATS1/2 maintains tumor cells in an undifferentiated state, which may promote spheroid growth and create a more permissive environment for bacterial persistence.

Calibration estimation of population total using multi-auxiliary information in the presence of non-response

open access: yesScientific Reports
This paper considers the problem of estimation of the population total under probability proportional to size (PPS) sampling scheme when complete data is not available due to the presence of missing observations or non-response.

ATP13A2 is involved in intracellular polyamine transport in lung epithelial cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Spermidine transport in lung epithelial cells involves the polyamine transporter ATP13A2. Cell proliferation is associated with the upregulation of ATP13A2. Polyamines are present in all living cells and are implicated in various crucial cellular processes such as proliferation, apoptosis and autophagy.
