Calibrated EWMA estimators for time-scaled surveys with diverse applications
Recently, several memory-type mean estimators (including ratio, product, and logarithmic) have been developed. These estimators rely on exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA), which incorporate both historical and present sample data.

Ongoing dynamic calibration produces unstable number estimates.
Whether estimating the size of a crowd or rating a restaurant on a five-star scale, humans frequently navigate between subjective sensory experiences and shared formal systems. Here we ask how people manage this in the case of estimating number. We present participants with arrays of dots and ask them to report how many dots there are.

CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

The Performance of Multivariate Calibration on Ratios, Means and Proportions
In this paper, the calibration approach is revisited in order to allow new calibration weights that are subject to the restriction of multiple calibration equations on a vector of ratios, means and proportions.

A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...

The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

A Procedure of Global Optimization and its Application to Estimate Parameters in Interaction Spatial Models [PDF]
This work concerns the calibration of trip distribution models issued from Transportation Planning. The optimal estimators are the global minima of a non-convex function.

Re-calibration of sample means [PDF]
We consider the problem of calibration and the GREG method as suggested and studied in Deville and Sarndal (1992). We show that a GREG type estimator is typically not minimal variance unbiased estimator even asymptotically. We suggest a similar estimator

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Forecasting trends with asset prices
In this paper, we consider a stochastic asset price model where the trend is an unobservable Ornstein Uhlenbeck process. We first review some classical results from Kalman filtering.
