A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE MILITARY SECONDARY AND REFERENCE WAVEGUIDE POWER STANDARDS AT 37.5 GHZ

open access: yesСистеми обробки інформації
The calibration results of the waveguide power calibrator from the corresponding reference standard of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, obtained during its successive calibrations over fifteen years, indicate a significant scatter of its transmission ...

Introducing BACCO, an R Bundle for Bayesian Analysis of Computer Code Output

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2005
This paper introduces the BACCO bundle of R routines for carrying out Bayesian analysis of computer code output. The bundle comprises packages emulator and calibrator, computerized implementations of the ideas of Oakley and O'Hagan (2002) and Kennedy and

High Precision Astrometric Millimeter VLBI Using a New Method for Atmospheric Calibration

open access: yes, 2011
We describe a new method which achieves high precision Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) astrometry in observations at millimeter wavelengths.

Hemodynamic monitoring: To calibrate or not to calibrate? Part 1 – Calibrated techniques [PDF]

open access: yesAnestezjologia Intensywna Terapia, 2015
Over recent decades, hemodynamic monitoring has evolved from basic cardiac output monitoring techniques to a broad variety of sophisticated monitoring devices with extra parameters. In order to reduce morbidity and mortality and optimize therapeutic strategies, different monitoring techniques can be used to guide fluid resuscitation and other medical ...

Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

A Flexible, Low-Cost and Algorithm-Independent Calibrator for Automated Blood Pressure Measuring Devices

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Arterial hypertension is one of the most important public health problems, especially in developed countries. The quality and calibration of blood pressure (BP) equipment used for non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) measurement are essential to obtain ...

Microarcsecond VLBI pulsar astrometry with PSRPI I. Two binary millisecond pulsars with white dwarf companions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Model-independent distance constraints to binary millisecond pulsars (MSPs) are of great value to both the timing observations of the radio pulsars, and multiwavelength observations of their companion stars.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Atmospheric turbulence in phase-referenced and wide-field interferometric images: Application to the SKA

open access: yes, 2010
Phase referencing is a standard calibration procedure in radio interferometry. It allows to detect weak sources by using quasi-simultaneous observations of closeby sources acting as calibrators.

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.
