Rapid and sensitive insulated isothermal PCR for point-of-need feline leukaemia virus detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Objectives: Feline leukaemia virus (FeLV), a gamma retrovirus, causes diseases of the feline haematopoietic system that are invariably fatal. Rapid and accurate testing at the point-of-need (PON) supports prevention of virus spread and management of ...

Molecular epidemiology and strain diversity of circulating feline Calicivirus in Thai cats

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
Feline calicivirus (FCV) is a significant viral pathogen causing upper respiratory tract and oral diseases in cats. The emergence of the virulent systemic FCV variant (VS-FCV) has raised global concern in the past decade.

Half‐Calcium Substitution of the CaB6 Surface with Hydrogen: Synthesis, Structural Characterization, and Electronic Structure

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 6, Issue 11, November 2025.
A hydrogen boride component is formed on the calcium hexaboride (CaB6) surface via ion exchange. Protons replace approximately half the calcium in CaB6, forming three‐center two‐electron BHB bonds. The resulting HCa0.5B6 has alternating Ca‐rich and Ca‐deficient planes.

Sistem Pakar untuk Menentukan Penyakit Kucing Menggunakan Metode Certainty Factor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Contagious cat disease is one type of disease that is often infecting cats. Contagious diseases are part of the disease that spread from saliva, feces, urine, cakaran, aerosols, and also indirectly to other cats and keepers.

VP2 mediates the release of the feline calicivirus RNA genome by puncturing the endosome membrane of infected cells

open access: yesJournal of Virology
Feline calicivirus (FCV) is one of the few members of the Caliciviridae family that grows well in cell lines and, therefore, serves as a surrogate to study the biology of other viruses in the family. Conley et al. (14) demonstrated that upon the receptor

Acute onset neurological deficits and hypocalcaemia associated with nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism in three juvenile servals (Leptailurus serval)

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 103, Issue 11, Page 767-774, November 2025.
Nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism is a metabolic disorder caused by an imbalance in calcium homeostasis and is typically associated with the feeding of a calcium‐deficient diet. Nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism has been reported in domestic species, including cats and dogs, as well as captive carnivores and wildlife including lions ...

Production of positive controls for calcivirus-specific PCR using recombinant baculiovirus technology [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Recent advances in our knowledge of the genetic structure of human caliciviruses (HuCVs) and small round-structured viruses (SRSVs) have led to the development of polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based molecular tests specific for these viruses.

Analysis of RNA-Protein interactions involved in calicivirus translation and replication

open access: yes, 2008
The interaction of host-cell nucleic acid-binding proteins with the genomes of positive-stranded RNA viruses is known to play a role in the translation and replication of many viruses.

The CDE region of feline Calicivirus VP1 protein is a potential candidate subunit vaccine

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research
Background Feline calicivirus (FCV) infection causes severe upper respiratory disease in cats, but there are no effective vaccines available for preventing FCV infection.
