Minimal resource allocation network (MRAN) for call admission control (CAC) of ATM networks
Proceedings IEEE International Conference on Networks 2000 (ICON 2000). Networking Trends and Challenges in the New Millennium, 2002The project was undertaken essentially as a technical investigation of the utility of the minimal resource allocation network (MRAN) in the implementation of call admission control (CAC) on asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) networks. CAC is a fundamental mode of traffic management of ATM networks.

QoS-Aware Call Admission Control (QA-CAC) Scheme for LTE Networks
2019 15th International Conference on Electronics, Computer and Computation (ICECCO), 2019Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning is a critical challenge in any wireless broadband (WiBB) network. LTE being a WiBB network technology aimed at providing adequate network resources for speedy transmission of applications with varying QoS requirements.

New adaptive frame aggregation call admission control (AFA‐CAC) for high throughput WLANs
Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies, 2013AbstractThe major enhancements introduced by the very high throughput wireless local area network, cannot provide quality of service (QoS) satisfaction for real time and multimedia applications. The recent standard IEEE 802.11n introduced new Medium Access Control (MAC) mechanisms based on aggregation scheme to enhance throughput.

WiMAX is a project developed by the Working Group of IEEE 802.16 standard for broadband wireless access networks in Metropolitan Area Network (MAN). One of the features of MAC layer, this standard, is that it is designed to differentiate service among traffic categories with different multimedia requirements.

In this paper, we propose to provide ubiquitous access anywhere anytime by covering the remote areas using World Interoperability for microwave access (WiMax), complementing the existing universal mobile telecommunications systems (UMTS). In this proposed system to integrate WiMAX and UMTS, certain areas are covered by both systems.

In integrated voice/data Cellular Wireless Networks (CWN) voice calls (v-calls) are more susceptible to possible losses and delays than data (original or handover) calls (d-calls). That is why a number of different call admission control (CAC) strategies for prioritization of v-calls are suggested in various works, mostly implying the use of guard ...
