A methodological approach to age estimation of the intra‐puparial period of the forensically relevant blow fly Calliphora vicina via Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy [PDF]
Prediction of the intra‐puparial age of C. vicina was possible based on ATR‐FTIR‐absorption spectra. For age estimation, the full spectral range from 3700 to 600 cm−1 and the use of support vector machines resulted in the most accurate predictions.
