High infection prevalences by Trypanosoma minasense in non-human primates from the Southeast region of Brazil

Non-human primates (NHPs) are reported as exclusive hosts of Trypanosoma minasense, whose transmission cycle remains unknown. We investigated trypanosomatid infections in 194 NHPs of nine species from the Brazilian Southeast region.

We introduce the MacBrain Resource Center (MBRC) Collections of rhesus macaque embryonic brain tissue. Here, we illustrate histo‐ and immunohistology from our dynamically growing Collection 6, which currently contains >10,000 zoomable and downloadable images from n = 14 male and female embryos from early to late in gestation.

Labiolingual thickness and cross‐sectional area in callitrichid incisors

Many primates gouge to extract gums or saps from trees as part of their diet. Gouging callitrichid monkeys are characterized by lower incisors that are labiolingually thicker than non‐gougers, however, their incisors are not any larger in cross‐section. This difference may provide key insight into the gouging behavior of fossil primates.
