Abstract Three homologous trans chromanone carboxylic acids ( 1 a, 1 b and 1 c) made up about 20% of the pentane-hexane extract from Calophyllum brasiliense seed kernels. The cis isomers ( 2 a, 2 b and 2c) were also present but only in trace amounts.
