Machine learning prediction of calorific value of coal based on the hybrid analysis

International Journal of Coal Preparation and Utilization, 2022
As one of the most important indicators of coal, calorific value (CV) not only determines the value of coal product, but also has a significant impact on the further processing and utilization of coal.

Effects of Coal Oxidation on Calorific Value

Energy Sources, 1999
A brief investigation of the effects of oxidation on the calorific values of three Turkish lignite samples has been made. The lignite samples have been vacuum dried and oxidized in pure oxygen at 35, 45, and 55 C at 100 kPa for 10 days. The calorific values of the oxidized and unoxidized samples have been measured.

Prediction of Calorific Value of Coal by Multilinear Regression and Analysis of Variance

, 2021
The higher heating value (HHV) of 84 coal samples including hard coals, lignites, and anthracites from Russia, Colombia, South Africa, Turkey, and Ukrania was predicted by multilinear regression (MLR) method based on proximate and ultimate analysis ...

Decrease of Calorific Value and Particle Size in Coal Stockpiles

Energy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization, and Environmental Effects, 2008
Abstract During storage of excess amount of coal, they lose both their economical value and cause environmental problems. In this work, two industrial-sized stockpiles were constituted at a coal stockyard of Western Lignite Corporation (WLC) in Tuncbilek, Turkey.

Forecast of the gross calorific value of coking coals

Solid Fuel Chemistry, 2017
The comprehensive analysis of 63 test samples of coal concentrates from Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and countries outside the former Soviet Union (the United States, Canada, Australia, and Poland), which constitute the current raw materials base of the by-product coke plants of Ukraine, was carried out.

Accuracy improvement of quantitative analysis of calorific value of coal by combining support vector machine and partial least square methods in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

Plasma Science and Technology, 2020
Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is a potential technology for online coal property analysis, but successful quantitative measurement of calorific value using LIBS suffers from relatively low accuracy caused by the matrix effect. To solve this

Determination of calorific values of coals by differential thermal analysis

Fuel, 1992
Abstract This paper examines a further use for the thermal analysis technique in the coal science field. Eight Spanish coal samples, of different origin and rank, and their corresponding chars have been studied. The applicability of differential thermal analysis (DTA) for determining the calorific values of coals has been tested after analysing its ...

Production and Determination of Energy Content (Calorific Value) of Optimized Coal Blended Pellets as Fuel for Cofiring

International Journal of Advances in Engineering and Management
This study is significance in the sense that it explores how cofiring coal with coconut shells (biomass) could promote energy sustainability by reducing reliance on fossil fuels This research is concern with the production of five samples of coal blended

A new approach for the prediction of combustible sulphur in coal in terms of coal washability data and calorific value

International Journal of Oil, Gas and Coal Technology, 2021
In this study, determination of petrographical properties and washability characterisation for Uzulmez District (Zonguldak coal basin) coals were realised.

Data-driven computational approaches to estimate gross calorific value of coal using proximate and ultimate analyses

International Journal of Coal Preparation and Utilization
A crucial factor in determining coal’s quality is its gross calorific value (GCV). GCV is generally determined experimentally using an adiabatic bomb calorimeter.
