Design and Optimization of a Novel Kalina‐Organic Rankine Cycle System Based on LNG Cold Energy Utilization

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study proposes a novel integrated system (SDKC‐DORC) that combines a split‐flow dual‐pressure Kalina cycle with a secondary organic Rankine cycle for the synergistic utilization of solar energy and liquefied natural gas (LNG) cold energy.

Technobiological Pathways for High‐CO₂ Capture Using Micro‐/Macroalgae: Genetic Engineering, Process Automation, and Value‐Added Bioproducts

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have emerged as one of the most critical drivers of climate change; this is primarily due to high concentrations and long atmospheric life of carbon dioxide (CO2). For a significant amount of time, various biological processes such as microalgal cultivation, cyanobacterial systems, photosynthetic microorganisms ...

Steam gasification of bagasse: Effect of heating rate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Bagasse residue is a potential feedstock for steam gasification, but knowledge of this technology is still small and fragmented. Heating rate is of the most important factors influencing the gasification process.

Combined effect of increasing the post‐reformer temperature and adding red mud as a secondary catalyst in the thermocatalytic reforming of digestate

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract This work studies the combined effect of increasing the post‐reformer temperature and introducing red mud as a support catalyst in the thermocatalytic reforming (TCR®) of digestate. The TCR® method, developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT (abbreviated as Fraunhofer UMSICHT), is an extension

Prediction of gross calorific value of coal based on proximate analysis using multiple linear regression and artificial neural networks

open access: yesTurkish J. Electr. Eng. Comput. Sci., 2018
Gross calorific value (GCV) of coal was predicted by using as-received basis proximate analysis data. Two main objectives of the study were to develop prediction models for GCV using proximate analysis variables and to reveal the distinct predictors of ...

Utilization of Waste Materials Using the Müller–Kühne Process—A Life Cycle Inventory Study

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
This study presents a Life Cycle Inventory of the Müller–Kühne process (MKP), which converts gypsum waste into sulfuric acid and cement clinker. The MKP outperforms conventional cement production regarding material yield, though its specific energy demand is higher. Consequently, potentials for circular gypsum waste utilization are discussed.
