Software Sensors for Biomass Concentration Estimation in Filamentous Microorganism Cultivation Process [PDF]

open access: yesChemical and Biochemical Engineering Quarterly, 2019
In this study, the potential of two software sensors for on-line estimation of biomass concentration during cultivation of filamentous microorganisms is examined. The first sensor is based on common bioreactor off-gas analyses, and uses the assumption of

Thermochemical Measurements of Alkali Cation Association to Hexatantalate

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Ion association is an important process in aqueous dissolution, precipitation, and crystallization of ionic inorganic, organic, and biological materials. Polyoxometalates (POMs) are good model compounds for understanding the complex relationships between

Fertilisation based on a chemical, mineral, and microbiological approach to mitigate Cd content in cacao crops in Arauca, Colombia

open access: yesDiscover Environment
Cadmium contamination in cacao crops from Arauca, Colombia, is a major concern for exports. One of the causes is the contaminated fertilisers or the lack of a fertilisation scheme.

Thermal Energy and Luminosity Characterization of an Advanced Ignition System Using a Non-Intrusive Methodology in an Optically Accessible Calorimeter

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
To restrain the environmental impact of modern SI engines, igniters must guarantee stable combustions with low cycle-to-cycle variability in extreme operating conditions (high EGR, ultra-lean), via high energy release in the combustion chamber.

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.
