Calosoma sycophanta L. (Coleoptera, Carabidae) ve Thaumetopoea pityocampa (Den. & Schiff.) tarafından istila edilen ormanlara, üretim laboratuvarlarında yetiştirilerek salınır. Fakat bu avcı böcek mikroorganizmalar tarafından enfekte edilir. Bu, C. sycophanta'nın seri üretimini etkileyen temel etkendir.

Bu çalışmada Calosoma sycophanta L. (Coleoptera: Carabidae)'da tespit edilen mikrosporidyum patojeninin üretim laboratuvarlarındaki dağılımının belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaçla 2015-2017 yılları arasında Türkiye'de en çok üretim yapan 10 farklı lokalite ve 16 farklı laboratuvardan örnekler alınarak incelendi.
