Cranial ontogeny ofCaluromys philander(Didelphidae: Caluromyinae): a qualitative and quantitative approach [PDF]
The ontogeny of skull allometry has been the subject of research in didelphid, microbiotheriid, and dasyurid marsupials. We described and compared postweaning stages of cranial development in the woolly opossum Caluromys philander, a member of a distinct lineage of didelphids.

A nearly complete juvenile skull of the marsupial Sparassocynus derivatus from the Pliocene of Argentina, the affinities of “sparassocynids”, and the diversification of opossums (Marsupialia; Didelphimorphia; Didelphidae) [PDF]
“Sparassocynids” are small, carnivorously-adapted marsupials known from the late Miocene and Pliocene of South America, thought to be relatives of living didelphid opossums but of otherwise uncertain phylogenetic relationships.

Molecular discrimination of pouched four-eyed opossums from the Mamirauá Reserve in the Brazilian Amazon [PDF]
Previous cytochrome B (CytB) mtDNA studies have suggested four species for the opossum genus Philander (four-eyed opossums), three (P. mcilhennyi, P. andersoni and P. opossum) from the Amazon and one (P.

Phylogenetic measures applied to the conservation of Mexican marsupials
The didelphimorphs in Mexico are found all over the country except for the Baja California Peninsula. The aim of this study was to use three methods to assess the phylogenetic diversity of the species: Marmosa mexicana, Tlacuatzin canescens, Caluromys ...
