Marked Calvarial Thickening and Dural Changes Following Chronic Ventricular Shunting for Shaken Baby Syndrome

open access: yesArchives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, 2003
Abstract We report the case of a 23-year-old woman who was abused at the age of 5 months. She suffered from complications frequently associated with shaken baby syndrome, such as hydrocephalus secondary to subarachnoid hemorrhage. The patient underwent a procedure to place a ventriculoperitoneal shunt 3 weeks after her presentation ...

Dyke–Davidoff–Masson syndrome in a Nigerian

open access: yesEpilepsy and Behavior Case Reports, 2017
Dyke–Davidoff–Masson syndrome (DDMS) is a rare, but important cause of drug-resistant seizures. Dyke–Davidoff–Masson syndrome is a constellation of clinical features that consists of hemiparesis, seizure, facial asymmetry, and intellectual disability ...

Hyperostosis Cranii Ex Vacuo with Layered Imaging Appearance of Skull in a Patient of Dandy-Walker Malformation with Early CSF Shunting

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
A 26-year-old male presented with seizures characterised by clonic posturing of the bilateral upper limbs, deviation of the angle of the mouth, vertigo and an unstable gait for one month. He had a known history of Dandy-Walker syndrome with hydrocephalus,

Intraosseous meningioma mimicking osteosarcoma

open access: yesAutopsy and Case Reports, 2021
Background: Predominantly intraosseous meningiomas are rare entities that include true primary intraosseous meningiomas (PIM), as well as meningiomas that may show extensive bone involvement, such as en plaque meningiomas.

Boosting Sensory Nerve‐to‐Bone Interactions Enhances Hedgehog Mediated Calvarial Bone Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Boosting sensory nerve activity via TrkA agonism strongly accelerates calvarial bone repair in adult mice. Furthermore, single‐cell RNA sequencing and neuron–bone interactome analyses identify these sensory neurons as a direct neural source of Hedgehog pathway ligands. Consequently, these ligands drive osteoblast differentiation of skeletal progenitors,

High‐Performance Prevascularized SHED‐Laden rGO@Hydrogel Achieves Optimized Diabetic Bone Defect Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐performance 3D scaffold integrating rGO and SHEDs is developed to overcome impaired healing in diabetic bone defects. By driving extracellular matrix remodeling, rGO creates a pro‐angiogenic niche that significantly accelerates in vitro vascular network formation.

Deep Learning Network‐Tailored Microenvironment Matching of 4D Bioprinting Bioactive Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DLN dataset was built to analyze MABS composition versus in vitro/in vivo osteogenesis and angiogenesis. An MLP neural network, taking BG morphological parameters as input, extracts bioactive features from these datasets. A rabbit tibial defect model then validates 4D‐printed MABS for adaptability and bone regeneration in critical defects.
