Effects of Multiple Near‐Infrared LEDs (700, 850, and 980 nm) CW‐PBM on Mitochondrial Respiration and Gene Expression in MG63 Osteoblasts

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, EarlyView.
A multi‐wavelength near infrared LED light source (700–1100 nm) altered mitochondrial respiration and energy production in MG‐63 osteoblastic cells. This LED light source boosted gene expression of the osteogenic markers ALP, RUNX2, BMP, COL1, OPN, and OCN.

Integrating livestock and cropping systems: Interseeding cereal rye into corn for grazing

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, EarlyView.
Abstract Interseeding annual forages into growing corn may be an alternative for both cover and grazing in temperate regions of the United States. A 4‐year experiment evaluated the effect of interseeding cereal rye (Secale cereale) into corn for grazing after harvest on corn grain, forage biomass yield and quality, soil health, and estimated spatial ...

Soil health and community well‐being: A framework of intangible outcomes of sustainable agriculture

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, EarlyView.
Abstract Social outcomes of agricultural practice adoption are often excluded from adoption studies, particularly outcomes related to community well‐being. In large part, this is because assessing the social well‐being outcomes of sustainable agricultural practices lacks a widely accepted framework.
