Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Learning colon centreline from optical colonoscopy, a new way to generate a map of the internal colon surface

open access: yesHealthcare Technology Letters, 2019
Optical colonoscopy is known as a gold standard screening method in detecting and removing cancerous polyps. During this procedure, some polyps may be undetected due to their positions, not being covered by the camera or missed by the surgeon.

Automatic focus control for facsimile cameras [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
An electronic circuit for controlling the focus of facsimile cameras is described. The circuit consists of balanced a.c. amplifiers, two square law function generators, and a differential amplifier and power drive.

Generalized Convolutional Neural Networks for Point Cloud Data

open access: yes, 2017
The introduction of cheap RGB-D cameras, stereo cameras, and LIDAR devices has given the computer vision community 3D information that conventional RGB cameras cannot provide. This data is often stored as a point cloud.

Attosecond Streak Camera

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2002
An electron generated by x-ray photoionization can be deflected by a strong laser field. Its energy and angular distribution depends on the phase of the laser field at the time of ionization. This phase dependence can be used to measure the duration and chirp of single sub100-attosecond x-ray pulses.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Omnidirectional DSO: Direct Sparse Odometry With Fisheye Cameras [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, 2018
We propose a novel real-time direct monocular visual odometry for omnidirectional cameras. Our method extends direct sparse odometry by using the unified omnidirectional model as a projection function, which can be applied to fisheye cameras with a field-
