Türkler, Anadolu’ya geldikten sonra, daha önce burada bulunan toplumların sanatlarından etkilenmişler ve kendi sanatlarını oluşturmuşlardır. 11. yüzyıl ile 19. yüzyıl arasında sırası ile Anadolu Selçuklu, Beylikler ve Osmanlı dönemleri yaşanmıştır. Anadolu Selçukluları Dönemi’nde yapılarda en fazla kullanılan yapı malzemesi ahşaptır.
