Abstract Hadrosaurid dinosaurs are generally regarded as “crested” or “non‐crested” depending on the presence or absence of a bony cranial crest. At least one supposedly “non‐crested” hadrosaur is known to have possessed a soft tissue cranial crest (or comb), based on an exceptionally preserved “mummified” specimen. Here we redescribe this specimen and

The color of transformation: Investigations into heat treatment of Natufian artifacts from Hayonim Terrace (Israel) [PDF]
In the Natufian lithic component at Hayonim, both in the cave and the terrace, numerous artifacts of pink/red color may be recognized. Cherts with similar appearance are not present in the geological environment surrounding the site in Northern Israel ...

The Campanian working party in Brussels did not wish to make a conclusive recommendation but there was a strong feeling that the base of the stage should be fixed at the extinction-level of the crinoid Marsupites. Other criteria discussed included ammonites, belemnites, foraminifera, calcareous nannofossils and magnetostratigraphy.

Depositional processes and stratigraphic evolution of the Campanian deltaic system of La Anita Formation, Austral-Magallanes Basin, Patagonia, Argentina [PDF]
Coastal depositional systems are commonly classified in terms of the relative interaction of wave, tide and fluvial processes. The La Anita Formation represents the opportunity to study and better understand coastal sedimentary systems.

Abstract The Upper Cretaceous São José do Rio Preto Formation (Bauru Group, southeastern Brazil) has yielded a fragmentary but taxonomically diverse record of titanosaur sauropods, although elements from cervical series remain scarce. Here, we describe a nearly complete sauropod axis from the Vila Ventura Paleontological Area, representing an uncommon ...
