Pinus armandii ectomycorrhizas mobilize aluminium‐bound phosphorus via carboxylates along a subtropical altitudinal gradient

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 8, August 2026.
Ectomycorrhizal roots of Pinus armandii release more carboxylates than non‐mycorrhizal root segments, mobilizing Al‐bound inorganic P. Under the lowest available P conditions, they also secrete more phosphatase, promoting the mineralization of Al‐bound organic P.

Revision of the Elusive Harvestmen Genus Discocyrtulus Roewer, 1927 (Opiliones: Laniatores: Gonyleptidae): Investigating the Presumed Northeastern Brazilian Discocyrtus‐Like Relatives

open access: yesAustral Entomology, Volume 65, Issue 3, August 2026.
ABSTRACT A maximum parsimony analysis based on morphological characters (23 taxa; 98 characters; 1951 scorings) was conducted to test the monophyly of Discocyrtulus Roewer, 1927, and to assess its phylogenetic relationships within Gonyleptidae. The results recover the species currently assigned to Discocyrtulus as phylogenetically distant from ...

Structured machine learning modeling to support conservation of deep‐sea benthic biodiversity

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Biodiversity monitoring programs need to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable predictions. To establish a predictive monitoring program for deep‐sea benthos of the Santos Basin, Brazil, we developed a two‐stage structured model that allowed comparison of biodiversity predictions obtained from environmental simulations (2M‐Sim).

Conservation implications of low contemporary connectivity along the Mid‐Atlantic Ridge in hydrothermal vent gastropods

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Polymetallic sulfide deposits produced at hydrothermal vent fields are targets for mining exploitation along the Mid‐Atlantic Ridge, threatening the functioning and resilience of vent ecosystems that provide multiple ecosystem services. Knowledge about connectivity between vents will inform conservation practices.

Morpho‐structural analysis of impact craters on Pluto: Implications for the study of complex craters

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 8, Page 1950-1964, August 2026.
Abstract We used Pluto's global digital elevation model to automatically perform a morphometric analysis of impact craters. Triangular irregular networks (TINs) were generated for each crater, providing a detailed representation of crater topography and enabling more accurate morpho‐structural analysis. A dedicated toolkit generated radial profiles for

[Life and work at the petroleum industry in Campos Basin].

open access: yesCiencia & saude coletiva, 2010
In this paper we detach the subject of confinement as a central axle in the activity at maritime oil platforms of Campos Basin, in north region of the Rio de Janeiro state. This work reality that determines for offshore workers, as they are known, a rupture between two different moments in there lives: the period of fourteen days in the sea and the ...

Ibero‐Balearic plant disjunctions: genomic support for rapid and recurrent long‐distance colonizations of the endangered Diplotaxis ibicensis (Brassicaceae) despite no dispersal syndromes

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 5, Page 1560-1572, August 2026.
Genotyping‐by‐sequencing data reveal six well‐defined clades in the endangered Diplotaxis ibicensis, endemic to the western Mediterranean Basin and indicate rapid and recurrent long‐distance colonisations across the Balearic Islands and the eastern Iberian coast despite the absence of dispersal syndromes.

Diagnosing Submesoscale Divergence From Sea Surface Height

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 14, 28 July 2026.
Abstract The Surface Water and Ocean Topography satellite mission now delivers global sea surface height (SSH) observations at scales fine enough to resolve submesoscale eddies (<50 km). At these scales, the traditional geostrophic approximation, commonly used to infer surface currents from SSH, no longer holds.
