Radiographic study of mandibular nutrient canals
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1982The appearance of nutrient canals in the mandibular anterior region was studied by evaluating the complete-mouth dental radiographs of 1,586 patients who were subdivided into four groups. The incidence of nutrient canals was very high in patients with periodontal disease, in patients of advanced age, and especially in endentulous patients.

Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy, 2013
This paper aims to report and discuss a case in which unusual anatomical variations were observed in the mandibular canal (MC) and the mandibular incisive canal (MIC) in a same patient.A 49-year-old healthy female was referred for mandibular dental implant placement. Panoramic radiography and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) were performed.

Mandibular molar with C‐shaped canal
Dental Traumatology, 1986Abstract This case report describes a mandibular molar with a C‐shaped canal. Radiographically, the tooth had a normal morphological appearance with 2 distinct and separate roots. However, the pulp chamber door had only 2 root canal orifices, a mesiolingual orifice and a buccal C‐shaped trough that was continuous from the normal location of the ...

Radiographic study of mandibular nutrient canals.
Annals of dentistry, 1992This study was undertaken to determine the correlation between the presence of nutrient canals in the mandibular anterior region and sex, age, edentulous mandible, periodontal disease, and high blood pressure. The periapical roentgenograms taken from the mandibular anterior region of 1040 patients were examined.

Mandibular molar with three distal root canals
Dental Traumatology, 1986Abstract An unusual case is presented in which there were three canals in the distal root of a mandibular first permanent molar. The anomaly was not detectable radiographically, but could be important during root canal treatment. The variation may be related to the occurrence of a contralateral three‐rooted molar seen in the patient.
