Mitochondrial Calcium Uniporter Drives Chemoresistance in Pancreatic Cancer via Glutathione‐Mediated Stemness Maintenance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PDAC has a poor prognosis due to chemoresistance. We revealed that MCU upregulation is associated with chemoresistance and stemness in PDAC. MCU‐mediated Ca2+ influx induced ER stress, activating the PERK‐ATF4/NRF2 axis to enhance PSAT1/SLC711 expression and glutathione synthesis, reducing ROS and maintaining stemness.

Micro-computed tomography analysis of calcium hydroxide delivery efficacy in C-shaped canal system of mandibular second molars

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Background Calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)2] is widely accepted as a biocompatible interappointment intracanal medicament. This study aimed to analyze the efficacy of Ca(OH)2 placement into the C-shaped canal system of mandibular second molars using the ...

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

Comparative evaluation of the shaping performance of three NiTi rotary systems in distolingual canals of 3D-printed three-rooted mandibular first molars

open access: yesFrontiers in Dental Medicine
IntroductionThis ex vivo study compared the shaping ability of three nickel-titanium (NiTi) rotary systems in distolingual (DL) canals using 3D-printed three-rooted mandibular first molar (3RM1) replicas.Materials and methodsTwo extracted 3RM1s with DL ...

Auditory Hair Cell Mechanotransduction Channels Dynamically Shape the Mechanical Properties of Their Membrane Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work shows, for the first time, that the stereocilia membrane in cochlear hair cells is dynamically regulated by the mechanotransduction channel to impact the membrane mechanical properties. This work provides direct evidence that the opening and closing associated with the MET channel is regulating the membrane viscosity suggesting that the MET ...

A Patient‐Derived Organ‐on‐Chip Platform for Modeling the Tumor Microenvironment and Drug Responses in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Researchers have developed a patient‐derived organ‐on‐a‐chip model for pancreatic cancer by integrating cancer cells with supportive stromal and immune cells inside a microfluidic device. This system mimics the tumor microenvironment, enabling personalized testing of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and offering new insights into how targeting ...

Endometrial Assembloid Model Reveals Endometrial Gland Development Regulation by Estradiol‐Driven WNT7B Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed a 3D endometrial assembloid model to study how uterine glands form and develop. They discovered key interactions between different cell types and identified WNT7B as a regulator controlled by estradiol‐mediated TGFβ1‐VDR interaction.
