Characterization of theCandida parapsilosiscomplex in East China: species distribution differs among cities [PDF]

open access: yesMedical Mycology, 2012
Candida parapsilosis, which was previously considered to be a complex of three genetically distinct groups, has emerged as a significant agent of nosocomial infections. Recently, this complex was separated into three species: C. parapsilosis sensu stricto, C. orthopsilosis and C. metapsilosis. In China, data pertaining to these fungi are limited.

Unlocking the Quality Potential of Liberoid Coffee: Advances in Composition, Processing, and Microbial Fermentation

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Liberoid coffee (Coffea liberica group), comprising varieties of Liberica and Excelsa coffee types, is gaining attention for its unique chemical composition and sensory potential. However, its quality remains under‐optimized due to limited understanding of genotype‐specific traits and processing responses.

Host–pathogen interactions upon Candida auris infection: fungal behaviour and immune response in Galleria mellonella

open access: yesEmerging Microbes and Infections, 2022
Candida auris has globally emerged as a multidrug-resistant fungus linked to healthcare-associated outbreaks. There is still limited evidence on its virulence, pathogenicity determinants, and complex host–pathogen interactions. This study analyzes the in

Two cases of atypical periorificial dermatitis caused by Candida parapsilosis in patients volunteering in dog shelters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Candida is a genus of yeasts that can be a part of normal human skin flora, but may cause disease when the skin barrier is compromised. C. albicans is the most common pathogenic species of this genus, but in recent years infection with other species ...

Antifungal susceptibility and virulence of Candida parapsilosis species complex: an overview of their pathogenic potential

open access: yesJournal of Medical Microbiology, 2018
Antifungal resistance and several putative virulence factors have been associated with the pathogenicity of the Candida parapsilosis species complex. The objective of this study was to evaluate the antifungal susceptibility, the production of virulence factors and the pathogenicity of the C. parapsilosis complex.Overall, 49 isolates of C.
