Canine Circovirus 1 (CaCV-1) and Canine Parvovirus 2 (CPV-2) [PDF]
Recurrent outbreaks of sudden death and bloody diarrhea were reported in March 2013 and February 2014 in a breeding colony of Papillon dogs. During the first outbreak, 1 adult dog and 2 eight-month-old puppies died. During the second outbreak, 2 ten-week-old puppies died.

Epidemiology and genotypic diversity of canine circovirus identified in pet dogs in Harbin, China
Acta Tropica, 2023Canine circovirus (CanineCV) is a single-stranded DNA virus that circulates in dogs and wild carnivores around the world. It has been suggested to be associated with diseases of respiratory and gastrointestinal systems, though its pathogenic potential remains unclear. Currently, CanineCV is divided into six genotypes (genotype 1-6), and genotypes 2, 3,

Role of canine circovirus in dogs with acute haemorrhagic diarrhoea
Veterinary Record, 2017Canine circovirus (CanineCV) has been detected in some dogs with severe haemorrhagic diarrhoea, but its pathogenic role is unclear. This study evaluated a suspected association between the presence of CanineCV and acute haemorrhagic diarrhoea syndrome (AHDS) in dogs.

Novel genotyping definition and molecular characteristics of canine circovirus in China
VirologyCanine circovirus (CCV) has been detected globally, but its genotyping remains unevenly characterized. To comprehend the evolution and genotyping of CCV, 887 rectal swabs of dogs were collected during 2018-2023. According to p-distance/frequency histograms and phylogenetic trees based on complete genome sequences, the 21 newly obtained Chinese and 84 ...

Genetic characterization of canine parvovirus and circovirus in dogs in Vietnam
2023Canine parvovirus (CPV-2) emerged and caused severe enteritis in dogs since the 1970s. The last variant, CPV-2c is considered as the high virulent strain and spread ubiquitous worldwide. This strain was early detected in Vietnam since 2002, but the whole genome is still fragmentary.

[Canine Circovirus Genome Cloning and Sequence Analysis].
Bing du xue bao = Chinese journal of virology, 2018Dog circovirus (DogCV) is a newly discovered mammalian circovirus. To investigate the genomic characteristics and genetic diversity of DogCV spreads in China, the first genome sequence of Chinese isolate, designated as JZ98/2014,was obtained by overlap PCR using the DNA extracted from dog serum as template for amplification.

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution
Circoviruses are relatively new pathogens, and new circoviruses are constantly being discovered, with a growing range of hosts. Recently, canine circovirus (CanineCV) was reported to infect cats and badgers, further broadening its host range. Previous studies on the evolution and dissemination of CanineCV were fragmented.
