On 10 and 11 February 2021, archaeologists with the Swift River-Versar Joint Venture conducted National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) evaluations at six sites on Melrose Air Force Range, Cannon Air Force Base, Roosevelt County, New Mexico. Two sites were verified, assemblages were documented, and contextual integrity evaluated.

The documentation of Building S-111, located on Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico, was conducted to determine the nature and extent of significance of the structure. Building S-111 derives its significance from its use as a low pressure chamber used to train combat pilots during the World War II and the Cold War.

Cultural Resource Inventory of 603 Acres of Unsurveyed Lands on Cannon Air Force Base, Curry County, New Mexico

Report on a survey of 603 acres on Cannon AFB to identify and make recommendations on NRHP eligibility for any sites in the area. Surveyors found one site and six isolated occurances. The site (LA 161297) was recommended for NRHP eligibility and the six isolated occurances were not recommended.

Cultural Resources Survey of 11,410 Acres within the Melrose Air Force Range, Cannon Air Force Base, Curry and Roosevelt Counties, New Mexico

1997
A total of 11,410 acres were surveyed and inventoried using close interval pedestrian survey methods. The survey crews found and recorded 19 prehistoric sites and 8 historic sites. In addition, the survey crews found and recorded 121 isolated manifestations of cultural activity.
