Autophagy in MASLD: A Metabolic and Precision Medicine Perspective

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most common chronic liver condition worldwide and a major contributor to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). While metabolic triggers such as obesity and insulin resistance are key drivers of MASLD, growing evidence has identified defects in intracellular quality

CPTCs Drive Somatic‐Visceral Communication via the Wnt Axis in Somatic Mechanotherapy: A Single‐Cell Deep Learning Study

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 15, 15 August 2026.
Using an interpretable deep learning framework (CARSS) applied to multi‐tissue single‐cell RNA sequencing, we identify CD34⁺PDGFRα⁺ telocytes (CPTCs) as the primary mechanosensors bridging somatic acupuncture stimulation and visceral repair. Mechanical force at acupoints activates an AP‐1/Hsp70 immediate‐early gene program in fascial CPTCs, triggering ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 8, Page 1963-1985, August 2026.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Stage‐Specific H3K14 and H3K23 Succinylation Orchestrates Insect Metamorphosis and Oogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 43, 3 August 2026.
Stage‐specific succinylation of histone H3 at lysine 14 and 23 differentially controls insect metamorphosis and oogenesis through distinct GPCR‐PKC signaling cascades, revealing an evolutionarily conserved epigenetic mechanism that coordinates key life‐history traits.

β‐Elemene Triggers Drp1‐Dependent Mitochondrial Fission Through CDK1/Cyclin B1 Signaling in Cervical Cancer Cells

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study reveals a novel molecular mechanism by which the natural sesquiterpene β‐Elemene exerts anti‐tumor effects in cervical cancer. β‐Elemene treatment promotes the activation of the CDK1/Cyclin B1 kinase complex. Activated CDK1/Cyclin B1, in turn, phosphorylates the mitochondrial fission protein Drp1 at serine 616.

The Two Extremal Rays of Some Hyper–Kähler Fourfolds

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 299, Issue 8, Page 2161-2176, August 2026.
ABSTRACT We consider projective Hyper–Kähler manifolds of dimension 4 that are deformation equivalent to Hilbert squares of K3 surfaces. In case such a manifold admits a divisorial contraction, the exceptional divisor is a conic bundle over a K3 surface. A classification of lattice embeddings implies that there are five types of such conic bundles.

Chemokines in Alzheimer's Disease: Early Defence, Late Damage and the Impact of Sex and Infection

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 139, Issue 2, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Chemokines constitute a versatile signalling network maintaining homeostasis and glia–neuron communication in the healthy brain but become progressively dysregulated during aging and Alzheimer's disease (AD). This review examines how chemokine systems transition from tightly regulated homeostatic signals to drivers of chronic neuroinflammation

Neutrophil‐Macrophage Interactions Shape Inflammatory Macrophage Remodeling in Gastric Cancer During Chemo‐Immunotherapy

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 8, Page 2115-2131, August 2026.
PD‐1 blockade combined with chemotherapy induces MHC‐II+ inflammatory neutrophils in gastric cancer, which engage in dynamic crosstalk with macrophages to remodel the tumor microenvironment toward a pro‐inflammatory state, thereby amplifying antitumor immune responses.

Unveiling Gut Homeostasis Disruption in Sepsis: Towards an Integrated Mechanistic and Translational Roadmap

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 59, Issue 8, August 2026.
Elucidating the contribution of gut‐organ axes will provide new insights for developing combined therapeutic strategies against sepsis‐associated multiple organ dysfunction. ABSTRACT Sepsis, a life‐threatening clinical syndrome precipitated by a maladaptive host response to infection, is associated with substantial morbidity and high mortality rates ...

Working So Hard: Double‐Stranded RNAs That Can Perform Both Gene Activation and Gene Silencing

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.
Working so hard: STING saRNAs are capable of not only entering the nucleus to induce subsequent target gene upregulation, but can also act as an siRNA to perform gene silencing. Chemical modifications in saRNA guide and passenger strands affect the strength of gene activation or gene silencing activity.
