Exploring the Tribological Properties of 3D Printed Polymer Composites: An Experimental Study

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Tribological pin‐on‐disc testing of FDM‐manufactured pins. Pins made from PLA, TPU, bronze‐filled PLA (BRO), and their combinations were tested against a SAE 1020 steel disc to evaluate friction, wear, and surface morphology. ABSTRACT In recent years, additive manufacturing, especially 3D printing, has been gaining more space in the production of parts

Molecular Enrichment in the Cavity of Hollow Mesoporous Silica Particles: the Effect of the Cavity Size

open access: yesParticle &Particle Systems Characterization, EarlyView.
The molecular enrichment in the cavity of hollow mesoporous silica particles is quantitatively investigated. Three different types of particles (spherical, core‐shell, and hollow particles) with comparable sizes are prepared to estimate the molecular concentration in the hollow cavity.

Comparative Upconversion of Tm, Yb‐Doped YF3, YOF, and Y2O3 Hosts

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), EarlyView.
This study aims to determine which host material—among YF3, YOF, and Y2O3—produces the strongest blue upconversion emission from Tm3+ ions after exciting the Yb3+ ions with an infrared diode laser at 980 nm. Powder of the mixed oxyfluoride phase was used to demonstrate forensic fingerprint detection with blue upconversion light, since it exhibits the ...
