KCCA Feature Selection for fMRI Analysis

open access: yes, 2004
We use Kernel Canonical Correlation Analysis (KCCA) to infer brain activity in functional MRI by learning a semantic representation of fMRI brain scans and their associated activity signal.

Chromosomal and immune dysregulation underlying granular mitosis in glioblastoma

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Granular mitosis (GM) morphology is linked to PI3K/PTEN pathway alterations, chromosomal disorganization, and impaired innate immunity. Cells exhibiting GM morphology are associated with localized immune responses within their immediate spatial microenvironment.

Finding the needle in a high-dimensional haystack: Canonical correlation analysis for neuroscientists

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2020
The 21st century marks the emergence of “big data” with a rapid increase in the availability of datasets with multiple measurements. In neuroscience, brain-imaging datasets are more commonly accompanied by dozens or hundreds of phenotypic subject ...

A Probabilistic Derivation of Canonical

open access: yes, 2002
We review a new method of performing Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA) with Artificial Neural Networks. We have previously [4, 3] compared its capabilities with standard statistical methods on simple data sets where the maximum correlations are ...

Eigenvector-based sparse canonical correlation analysis: Fast computation for estimation of multiple canonical vectors

open access: yes, 2021
Classical canonical correlation analysis (CCA) requires matrices to be low dimensional, i.e. the number of features cannot exceed the sample size.

Combined MEK1/2 and Autophagy Inhibition Suppresses Tumor Growth via STING‐Mediated Type I Interferon Response in iCCA

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Through bioinformatic analyses, iCCA cell models, and in vivo xenograft experiments, we show that autophagy inhibition sensitizes iCCA to MEK1/2 blockade by enhancing STING‐dependent type I interferon signaling. These findings support combined MEK1/2 and autophagy inhibition as a promising therapeutic strategy for iCCA. ABSTRACT The RAF–MEK–ERK pathway

Lucid Dreaming Frequency Associated With Grey–White Matter Networks: An Exploratory Multimodal MRI Study

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Lucid dreaming, defined as the experience of becoming aware of dreaming while dreaming, offers a unique window into a state of consciousness characterised by a blending of the sensory vividness of REM sleep with the self‐awareness of wakefulness. While past functional imaging has shed light on the neural activity supporting lucid dreaming, the

Machine Learning Group Two-Dimensional Canonical Correlation Analysis

open access: yes, 2020
In this technical report we present a method of two-dimensional canonical correlation analysis (2D-CCA) and two-dimensional multiset canonical correlation analysis (2D-MCCA) where we extend the standard CCA and MCCA in such a way that relations between ...

Long‐term effects of clear‐cutting forestry on ectomycorrhizal fungi in boreal forest

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Clear‐cutting is detrimental to ectomycorrhizal fungi in a short time perspective, but long‐term effects on species richness and community composition are uncertain. To evaluate ecological sustainability of rotation forestry, we examined to what extent communities similar to those in old forests develop within the time frame of a rotation ...

Does canonical correlation analysis provide reliable information on data correlation in array processing?

open access: yes, 2009
This work provides analytical results on the canonical correlation analysis (CCA) of data sets from two spatially separated arrays of sensors. Our case studies cover both single source and multiple source signals in either white or colored noise fields ...
